Supply Teachers
Mulberry Waldorf School is seeking Lead, Assistant, and Specialty Subject supply teachers for preschool, Kindergarten, and Grades 1 to 8.
SCOPE OF THE POSITION: Supply Teachers in the upper grades or specialty subjects (French, Music, Physical Education, Handwork) will be leading a class and Supply Teachers in the Early Childhood and lower grades will be assisting. Ideally, the class teacher will provide detailed lesson plans for the day. Otherwise, the Supply Teacher may use work from the Supply Teacher Binder to replace the typical daily work. Supply teaching may be arranged in advance by individual teachers, or on the morning of the day needed (after 6:30 AM). Generally, teachers will be asking for half-day or full day coverage.
KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: The ideal candidates will have a passion for holistic education, and experience in Waldorf education and/or experience working with young children. We are looking for candidates with the following skills/certification:
COMPENSATION: The rates for Supply Teaching are:
Lead and Specialty Subject Teacher Coverage: $20.97/hour inc. 4% vacation pay
Assistant Teacher Coverage: $19.49/hour inc. 4% vacation pay
ABOUT MULBERRY: Mulberry Waldorf School, established in 1996, offers programs for students and their parents from birth through Grade Eight. We are located within an active downtown community in beautiful and historic Kingston, with access to local parks, waterfront, conservation areas and provincial parks. Our teachers, administration, parents and a Board of Directors sustain the operations of the School.

- Waldorf Teaching Certificate and/or B.Ed. degree and/or Early Childhood Education Diploma and/or Educational Assistant Diploma and/or other relevant experience working with children (e.g. summer camp, coaching, theatre, tutoring, etc.).
- Current Police Check, including the Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current Standard First Aid Certification (preschool only)
- Immunization record (preschool only)
- Demonstrated ability to create a warm, gentle, and supportive environment
- Experience and confidence with positive behaviour management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Strong initiative and work ethic
- Musical and artistic abilities
