Mulberry Waldorf School is thrilled to offer 5 weeks of Summer Camp inspired by our love of Waldorf education.
Children will be immersed in both the natural and urban world around them within our building (25 Markland St), our school’s naturalized play yards, and surrounding parks and activity centres. Their time will be balanced with engaging games, crafts, skill-building activities, and various forms of art. Each week will have an overarching theme, and cumulative artistic/craft work to remember their time at camp. There will be four Camp Counsellors (18+ years old), two Camp Directors (Skylar Jordan and Remira Pryce), and several volunteers (13+ years old) every day to facilitate the programming.
We offer programming for both a Junior Camp (ages 4-7) and Senior Camp (ages 8-11) for the following weeks. There can be some flexibility for campers who are 7 years old. Children need to have turned 4 years old by July 1st, 2024 and are toileting independently.
July 14-July 18: Music Week
From singing, to instrument-making, to rhythm crafts & games, campers of any musical skill level will expand their musical knowledge. Campers will have the opportunity to share their musical skills (or support their peers in non-performance ways) in an end of the week performance that family can attend!
July 21-July 25: Fantasy Week
Campers will explore a variety of fantastical and mythological topics such as dragons, fairies, science fiction, and myths from around the world. They will have ample opportunities to let their imaginations soar through creative and physical activities. Myths and materials will be tailored to suit each age group.
July 28-July 31: Ecosystems Week
Each day campers will learn and engage with one of the five main ecosystems in the world: Grasslands, Forest, Aquatic, Tundra, and Desert. They will interact with local plants, animals, and insects, and learn about conservation approaches. Campers will engage in nature-based games, activities, crafts, and guest visits.
August 5-August 8: Olympics Week
Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of challenges, including races, obstacle courses, and sports activities throughout the week. The emphasis will be on cooperation, effort, and fair play. They will use their imagination and creative skills to create Olympic-themed crafts that encourage team spirit. Physical activity and materials will be tailored to suit each age group.
August 11-August 15: Mystery Week
Campers will work together to find evidence, unlock clues, and solve different mysteries throughout the week. Through riddles, scavenger hunts, map reading, and fingerprinting, campers will be encouraged to use their collaborative, creative, and problem-solving skills.
