Student Placements at Mulberry Waldorf School
Mulberry Waldorf School welcomes students from a variety of educational programs for practice teaching placements.
NOTE: All teaching placement opportunities for 2025-2026 are currently filled. You may request to be placed on a waiting list for this year, or to be considered for the 2026-2027 school year.

About Our Placements:
We are a small school and use an alternative educational approach (we do not use the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum).
We receive a large number of requests for placements each year, and ask that interested candidates be willing to:

If you would like to be considered for a placement at Mulberry Waldorf School, please send an email with the following information to the Pedagogical Director ([email protected]):
- Waldorf Teacher Education
- Year One and Two Concurrent Education (preference given to Year Two students)
- B.Ed. (alternative practicum)
- Early Childhood Education
About Our Placements:
We are a small school and use an alternative educational approach (we do not use the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum).
We receive a large number of requests for placements each year, and ask that interested candidates be willing to:
- Commit to the equivalent of at least one (and preferably two) full days per week (grade school full day is 8:30 to 3:30; early childhood full day is 8:00 to 4:00)
- Read several documents about Waldorf Education and our school before beginning your placement with us
- Observe/assist during specialty classes, e.g., French, Music, Handwork, Phys. Ed. (unless meeting with their host teacher or completing assigned planning/prep work)
- For Grade School: Help with one recess duty per day; role model appropriate outdoor gear for the weather (e.g., boots, rainpaints, hats, etc.)
- For Kindergarten or preschool: be prepared for outdoor learning (8:40 to 11:00 in the morning; 2:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon); role model appropriate outdoor gear for the weather (e.g., boots, rain paints, hats, etc.)
- Turn off and put away cell phones when working with children in the classroom or yard
- Use scent-free products when attending your placement with us (e.g. hair products, deodorant, perfume)
- Wear casual, professional dress (comfortable clothes, without large logos or media images, and that allow range of movement are preferred); bring indoor shoes

- In which term would you like to complete your placement (Fall: Sept to Dec; Winter: Jan to April; Spring: April/May)
- What days/times you are available for placement
- The ages/grades you are required to work with (and your preference)
- If you are interested in a French placement with our French Teacher
- A resume and/or cover letter that can be shared with potential host teachers
