A Statement from Mulberry Waldorf School

Our school acknowledges the societal injustice and the resulting grief and outrage
that has escalated throughout the US and globally.
We affirm that Black Lives Matter.

At the foundation of Waldorf education lies the mission of social renewal.
As Waldorf educators, we hold the dignity of life and the human being at the center of our work. It is our responsibility to bear witness to what is happening in the world,
to elevate the voices of marginalized people, to change the course of inequities,
and to break down structural prejudice in all forms where it exists,
particularly in Waldorf education.

We would like to share with you an excerpt from our accrediting body's
(Association of Waldorf Schools of North America) member commitment:

“Waldorf schools and institutes embrace respect for human rights
and for the diversity of humankind,
and we believe that valuing and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion
comprise a journey of both moral and educational importance.

"Through our commitment to social justice, we recognize the value of addressing the historical context and the endemic nature of racism and inequality…
As cultural institutions rooted in our communities, we strive to strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion through healthy policies and practices.”

" A healthy social life is found only,
when in the mirror of each soul the community finds its reflection,
and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living."

Rudolf Steiner

"Our family is so thankful for what this wonderful community has brought into our life."
"I am thankful to be part of a wonderful school community at Mulberry Waldorf School where I have met so many amazing families and have created a small tribe of friends and supporters."
“For six years (and 3 children), the Parent and Child class at Mulberry School has been the highlight of my week. In addition to much loved songs, stories, and free play for toddlers, the programming provides just the right mixture of warmth, wisdom, and wit to support and inspire parents of young children.”
